Source of Life

Source of Life

By Marcia Jarrett

Earlier this summer I was visiting family and we went to this sunflower field.  I was struck by this flower pointing up to the sun, the provider of life for the flower. What a great representation of where our source of life comes from! We should always be looking to God for strength and should be spurring each other on towards this goal.

Romans 12:10 says, “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.”

You need friends. And guess what? Friends need you. We are not called to walk this journey alone. Another key phrase from Romans 12 is “let love be genuine”.  Genuine love is letting others get close enough to speak into your life. You have to let down your defenses to develop these relationships in your life.  This is our purpose statement for the women at Meadows  that we, “women of all ages and walks of life, are gathering together in a GENUINE, gospel-focused community.” We want to be on mission for Jesus, while doing life together. To do that we have to live out Romans 12:9-21.  Take the time this week to read this passage and ponder how it could change your relationships. Pick up your phone and call/text a friend you haven’t seen in a while. Invite them into your home-knowing that you are loved and your home doesn’t have to be perfectly clean. Continue to pray for that friend and that you will be brave and let that person close enough to speak into your life.

Imagine what the women of Meadows would look like if we were all living in genuine love for each other. Pray for God to grow our relationships so that we can live together and serve the Lord.
