For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:14-19

What an example Paul sets for us in his prayers. Read this prayer for the people of the church in the city of Ephesus. How many of us intercede for others in this way? I think if we are honest, we would admit that our prayers often fall woefully short of such a prayer as this.

Paul’s focus here is that these people would know Christ’s boundless redeeming love so deeply and personally that it would be their anchor and source of strength. To know the love of Christ is to be “filled with all the fullness of God” says Paul.

Filled? With all the fullness of God? Is that even possible? It must be, or else Paul wouldn't have asked God for it. In fact, this is very much our aim as we gather in worship each week.

Every Sunday we come back together to begin a new week with a fresh start, seeking to be reminded of the breadth and length and height and depth of Christ’s love for us. To sing the gospel, preach the gospel, hear the gospel… this helps us to know the love of Jesus as we are sent out to enter a new week filled with all the fullness of God in our homes, in our schools, and in our workplaces.

Join us this Sunday as we ground ourselves in the love of Christ in our worship together. For our families with youngsters we have childcare available throughout the service for ages 3 and under. We also feature a special Kids’ Time and activity bags during the service for all young worshipers. In this week’s sermon, Pastor Michael Mackens will continue our new series on The Fruitful Life as we begin to examine the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5.

Take the time to prepare for worship by engaging with the Scripture and songs for this week. Ask God to use our time together to draw you closer to Him, to build up His church, and to glorify Himself. This week’s song playlist can be found on Spotify and YouTube. Everything you need to know about our Sunday worship services can be found on our website.

See you soon!
