Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,  obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:3-9

As we walk into church on any given Sunday, we are all coming in from different places and circumstances, unique joys and struggles. But we come in faith. We come believing that Jesus has overcome the world and no matter what we are facing, we have hope in him. This is why we can sing together and “rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory” as Peter says. Our worship is rooted in the living hope and saving faith that is found only through new life in Christ.

We gather to express these things as we sing, read Scripture, and pray. For our families with youngsters we have childcare available throughout the service for ages 3 and under. We also feature a special Kids’ Time and activity bags during the service for all young worshipers. In this week’s sermon, Mark Barnes will continue our Kingdom Come sermon series with a message from Matthew 27:62-28:10.

We hope you’ll join us in worship this week! You can prepare for gathered worship by finding a few moments to simply engage with the Scripture and songs for this week. Ask God to use our time together to draw you closer to Him, to build up His church, and to glorify Himself. This week’s song playlist can be found on Spotify and YouTube. Everything you need to know about our Sunday worship services can be found on our website.

See you soon!
