And Mary said,
“Behold, I am the servant of the Lord;
let it be to me according to your word.”
Luke 1:38
This week, as we observe the second Sunday of Advent, we will light another candle on the Advent wreath. This candle represents FAITH. It is this theme of faith that is seen so clearly in the reaction of Mary to the news that she would bear a child, the Son of the Most High and long-awaited Messiah, Jesus Christ. Has anyone received more incredible news than this? And yet her response is one of humble submission to God’s plan. Considering the spectrum of human emotions and confused thoughts that must have been swirling inside this young Jewish girl, her response is one of genuine faith: “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38)
May we enter into worship together this week with the same sense of trust in God and in his Word. Will you join us? For families with youngsters we have childcare available throughout the service for ages 3 and under. We also feature a special Kids’ Time and activity bags during the service for all young worshipers. In this week’s sermon, Pastor Michael will continue our Christmas series The Best News Ever with a message from Luke 1:26-38.
You can take the time to prepare for worship by engaging with the Scripture and songs for this week. Ask God to use our time together to draw you closer to Him, to build up His church, and to glorify Himself. This week’s song playlist can be found on Spotify and YouTube. Everything you need to know about our Sunday worship services can be found on our website.
I look forward to worshiping with you!
