The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;

the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Numbers 6:24-26

As the Israelites were journeying together toward the land God had promised to them, He gave to Moses this blessing for the priests to speak over the people, saying, “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”

As we light the candle of PEACE on this fourth Sunday of Advent, I think this blessing is beautiful to consider in the light of the birth of our Savior. For all the promises of this blessing are made true in Christ. Because Jesus came, we have been truly blessed. The Lord has shone upon us and been gracious to us, for he has lifted his face to see our need for a Savior. Looking upon our helplessness he has delivered to us Immanuel, the One who grants us peace with God through faith in him, placing his name upon us and calling us his own. Because Jesus was born, we have been blessed.

Join us this week as we continue our Advent journey towards Christmas, praising the Lord for the blessing of peace we have in Jesus Christ. For families with youngsters we have childcare available throughout the service for ages 3 and under. We also feature a special Kids’ Time and activity bags during the service for all young worshipers. In this week’s sermon, Pastor Michael will continue our Christmas series The Best News Ever with a message from Luke 2:1-7.

You can take the time to prepare for worship by engaging with the Scripture and songs for this week. Ask God to use our time together to draw you closer to Him, to build up His church, and to glorify Himself. This week’s song playlist can be found on Spotify and YouTube. Everything you need to know about our Sunday worship services can be found on our website.

I look forward to worshiping with you!
