But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy,
and spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may exult in you.
Psalm 5:11
This verse from the Psalms is an appropriate call to worship for us this week because it is a call for God’s people to rejoice and sing for joy! As we gather this third Sunday of Advent we will light yet another candle on the Advent wreath, this one representing JOY. If you read the Gospel narrative of the birth of Jesus, you can’t help but see joy expressed at every turn. Rejoicing over new life given, promises kept, good news proclaimed. No wonder that joy and rejoicing find their way into so many of the Christmas songs we know and love.
Join us in joyful worship this week as we continue our Advent journey towards Christmas. For families with youngsters we have childcare available throughout the service for ages 3 and under. We also feature a special Kids’ Time and activity bags during the service for all young worshipers. In this week’s sermon, Elder Stewart Pattison will continue our Christmas series The Best News Ever with a message from Luke 1:39-45.
You can take the time to prepare for worship by engaging with the Scripture and songs for this week. Ask God to use our time together to draw you closer to Him, to build up His church, and to glorify Himself. This week’s song playlist can be found on Spotify and YouTube. Everything you need to know about our Sunday worship services can be found on our website.
I look forward to worshiping with you!
