Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

The old has passed away;

behold, the new has come.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“What’s new?” You’ve probably been asked this before, and probably asked it of others when greeting them. Sometimes people will offer up an interesting bit of news, but more often than not, the response goes something like, “Not much” or “Nothing” or “Same old, same old.”

As Christians, we could with all honesty answer the question of “What’s new?” with a surprisingly different response: “I am!” As Paul so clearly states, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Jesus Christ died on the cross, taking the penalty for our sin and was raised to new life in a dramatic and total triumph over sin and death. Through faith in him we become partakers of Christ’s victory. The old has passed away. We are new.

Every week, we gather to experience this new life together. We come together to worship our life-giving God as we sing, read Scripture, and pray. For our families with youngsters we have childcare available throughout the service for ages 3 and under. We also feature a special Kids’ Time and activity bags during the service for all young worshipers. In this week’s sermon, Pastor Michael Mackens picks up the story of Christ’s triumphant resurrection with a message from Matthew 28:11-15.

Jesus Christ makes all things new, and we hope you’ll join us in worship of him this week! You can prepare for gathered worship by finding a few moments to simply engage with the Scripture and songs for this week. Ask God to use our time together to draw you closer to Him, to build up His church, and to glorify Himself. This week’s song playlist can be found on Spotify and YouTube. Everything you need to know about our Sunday worship services can be found on our website.

See you soon!
